-
Learn how to be effective, instead of just grouping up on the flag.
-
Learn what offense should do when they start moving the
flag.
-
Learn how to they
take advantage of that flag being moved.
-
Learn how to they layer the
offense so that you can keep constant pressure on enemy
defense.
-
Learn how to you
understand each other moves so you can move together and
attack as a team.
-
Learn offense how to move in
relation to where the flag is. (i.e. how offense can help by
knowing where our flag is and caltrop that area (or other defense)
on way out of our base.)
-
Train our players to play in any place they are needed. So everyone should be able to at least play decent
defense. If all of us are more flexible and good at more things then when something happens
you can easily adapt to what's needed.
-
Get feedback from defense. Learn from each other. Watch each other play. Comment on their play style. Learn what moves really really work well.
Comment on how defense plays and which players are truly being effective.
Have defense watch offense and have offense watch defense when spectating to learn where and how holes appear.
-
Learn new classes and how to use them on
offense. (i.e. What could you do effectively with a pyro for instance? Does it make sense to use him?
How would you do so?)
-
As a spectator discuss the current game and how it's unfolding.
Look for holes and things both
defense and offense could do better. Whisper through BC to defensive captains to let them know of holes and things that could work.
-
Learn how to see this game from a
"high level view" of how things move.
Learn to see tactics that can be used to get that flag through
holes in nme Defenese. Have
offensive captains learn to see those while in matches so that they can be flexible and take advantage of those holes.
-
Teach offense to
give defense locations of where the enemy is as much as possible. So
as the can better prepare for the defense. (big picture)
-
Learn to get a few ways to
coordinate attacks. Teams of 2,3 or 4; meeting at designated
waypoints or meeting spots, or have meeting spots in nme base. All offense should know designated roles
and not all drop on flag at same time. Attacking in waves is necessary
for two reasons: Demo pipes and spam. One single spam grenade clearing out two attackers is really bad.
-
On offense if you are on
the ball you will basically never need that " SG is DOWN" bind
if you keep up with the top right section of the screen. You
will know which SG goes down exactly when and which defender
you should attack by seeing how much pressure your offense is giving them which should determine how hurt he
is. (side note: I've heard that some top clan offenses don't use voice
comm. at all, all they do is follow the top right section.) You can even tell where the flag is dropped by who killed the flag runner!
You will train some practices with only that upper right and left of
the screen as communication and no BC or binds.
