Your Next Level
The Following are in no
particular order:
- Learn how to attack as a group.
- Learn the TFC fundamentals.
- Learn what should you say on BC channels.
- Learn class specific basics. (i.e. Rocket jump, grenade jump, explosive jumping,
strafe jumping, pipe jumping, feigning, how to use spy grenades, concing basics)
- Learn your combat basics. (i.e. how to lead your target, best body parts to aim for per
class)
- Learn what really messes up another team.(i.e. where to use grenades both on
defense and offense. How to spike high traffic areas, where to toss that nail grenade, where to shoot rockets just in case someone is coming around the
corner etc. )
- Learn how to follow commands, and how/what to do when connecting to servers. (i.e.
MM1 except captains, no swearing etc.)
- Work on regrouping your
mind and your information. Sometimes you get to caught up in the moment,
and you continue to do the same things over and over. When what you really need to do is start over and take a new approach. This has to do with many things and so the skill of starting over is very important.
- Learn if BC goes down what to do.
- Learn what to do if you drop
and what should rest of team do.
- Learn to see your ping
limitations. If the ping sucks for you what do you do?
- Assign and use captains. You will have secondary
captains who will need to do
everything our primary captains do when they are not there. We need to allow the captains to grow and learn how to
command. Having more then just
primary captains allows for much more flexibility in game.
- Learn and practice following orders as quickly and precisely as possible. So when someone needs something it's done right away, and everyone understands what right away means.
- Ensure that your TFC playing time is the best it can be. Make every practice count, make every game count, make sure that
you are constantly learning and moving forward.
- Make sure you don't have to play TFC
every night. Allow yourself to have real life time to do things and not have to worry about how the clan is doing. Speak
up if you have quistions.
- Use drills to improve your skills in specific areas: Piping a switch/flag.
- Taking down SG's - Fighting while conced - How to spot the spy -
concning past enemy in yard etc.
- Incorporate and practice new setups.
Try and think of new things not just the same old ones.
- Make more use of spectators. You
may learn something in spec mode that you would have otherwise
missed.
- Download the latest wall hack (this is just to see who reads the whole thing, disregard)
- Use the pause feature in TFC to immediately point of trouble spots and how things should move in order to fix them. Also to allow someone to say, "hey that was a really cool move everyone should see this right now". So that everyone learns about something right
away.
- Learn different classes, to
be more versatile.
- Pay attention to comm. binds more and only use 1 incoming bind for each incoming.
Have binds happen in succession with BC incomings. Short bind and more detailed
message on BC.
- You should get used to the ping on the clans server
you are going to be playing for our next match so that you can play effectively or know and tell the leaders that
you cant play on that server.
Think of the team and how you can help or hinder them based on your ping.
- The top right and top left corners of your screen are VERY useful in playing
smart, use them.
- Sound is another crucial part of defense and offense, listen and try and
figure out where all sounds are happening. Turn your volume way up to hear enemy sgs built and to hear
enemies incoming thru doors, if no footsteps, at least you can hear rocket jumps
and concs) Try not to have your CD music so loud you cant hear the small game
sounds that help you be a better player.
Now refine the system.
Give input to refine how and what you/others practice. Make your system the best it can be. Really work on defining what expectations are and what
you need to do to help you become one of the best clans in TFC.
