TEAM DEFENSE Teach defense
how to move in relation to where the flag is. (i.e. how should
defense setup when the flag moves) Learn to play in any place they are needed.
Everyone should be able to at least be able to play decent offense. If all of us are more flexible and good at more things then when something happens
you can easily adapt to what's needed. Learn new classes and how to use them on
defense. (i.e. What could you do effectively with a pyro for instance? Does it make sense to use him? how would
you do so?) Work on a higher level of coordination between
you and your teammates.
Understand where our other defense will be and then fill in the hole you see starting to form. Think about the game as a whole not just your small part in it. Get feedback from offense. Learn from each other. Watch each other play. Comment on their play style. Learn what moves really work well.
Comment on how offense/defense plays, and which players are truly being effective. Have
defense watch offense and have offense watch defense when spectating to learn where and how holes appear. As a spectator discuss the current game and how it's unfolding.
Looking for holes and things both
defense and offense could do better. Whisper through BC to the offensive
captain to let them know of holes and things that could work. Learn
how to respond to multiple attackers. How to fight
offense while also keeping an eye on what's going on with the flag and where the other
enemies are. Again try to Learn everyone the big picture view and to keep that in
everyone's head. Learn who your daddy is and
what he does. I'm a cop you idiot!
(this is just to see who reads the whole thing, disregard) Use the upper right and left
corner of screen excessively to see incomings and to know where the
attack is coming. Look at the enemy team and try to pick out the classes.
See based on guild tags and previous knowledge. Once they attack memorize the enemy names that are going to be attacking and compensate on the time it takes for them to cross the map based on their class. I can then tell how far they penetrate,
by who they kill or who kills them. You can even tell where the flag is dropped by who killed the flag runner!
Train some practices with only that upper right and left of the
screen as communication and no BC or binds. Try to really increase your knowledge of incomings and outgoings ( which way the enemy is leaving w/flag ) thru binds and
BC. Maybe the dead defense guy that was right next to flag when the enemy guy got it could stay dead and give these outgoings. Incomings should be brief on binds and more complicated on
BC, they could give about how much they are damaged and class on BC while only location they are coming thru on binds. |
