 In Air Turning



This technique is very, very useful. Hopefully by this time you have learned to strafe jump. The strafe keys can be used while in the air to maximize distance and change direction.

To turn in the air you hold Forward and then strafe and turn your mouse in the direction you wish to go. For example, if you conced from the back of Security_r (by generator) you should be able to land at your front door.  As you take off just strafe hard right and hold forward down.

This can be used with rocket and pipe jumps also.  A good way to train this would be to goto 2fort and stand beneath your batts on one side or the other. Just so your barely outside. Then facing forware rocket jump up to your batts by main upper respawn.  Anther good test is on rock2, front door to main yard. conc pipe jump or rocket jump straight forward, turn and strafe and land just inside doorway to library/wardens.

You should be able to take off from the "period" and follow the rest of the "question mark" in a strafe air turn.

Another good way is to stand still, look straight forward. Now, mentally draw a horseshoe from your feet out straight in front of you and then hooking to the left and ending parallel to where you are standing. you should then be able to jump in a arc following the outline of the horse shoe in your mind and land parallel to where you were, facing the other way.

 



Buttons: glide into the jump and strafe in the air to turn, move mouse to aim where you want to go :)

The Good:
- Allows for some extremely fast acceleration and momentum.
- Allows for changes in direction while in the air


The Bad:
- There is no bad :)
